What are the factors affecting the crushing fineness of air mill

Sep 04, 2021

In recent years, with the development of technology, it has brought a glimmer of vitality to the beginning of new industries. Our airflow crusher will be used in many chemical industries, polymer materials, such as the application of ultra-fine grinding of carbon black. This air mill has a lot of advantages. It depends on the air flow and the collision of materials to achieve the required fineness. This ensures the purity of the material. The more brittle the material is, the finer the fineness is in the crushing process, and the greater the output is.

Airflow mill, also known as airflow mill, jet mill or energy flow mill, is a mechanical equipment that uses the energy of high-speed airflow (300-500m / s) or superheated steam (300-400 ℃) to superfine crush solid materials. As one of the commonly used ultra-fine grinding equipment, air mill is widely used in ultra-fine grinding and dispersion molding of superhard materials such as chemical materials, medicine and food, metal powder and so on.

The pneumatic crusher has a wide range of crushing particle size and simple and convenient operation, but the crushing effect is often different in the crushing process. The crushing effect of air mill is mainly affected by the following factors: gas-solid ratio, feed particle size, working medium temperature and pressure, and crushing additives.

Gas solid ratio

The gas-solid ratio of airflow mill is not only an important technical parameter, but also an important index. If the gas-solid ratio is too small, the kinetic energy of the gas flow will be insufficient, which will affect the fineness of the product. However, if the gas-solid ratio is too high, it will not only waste energy, but also deteriorate the dispersion performance of some pigments.

Feed particle size

When crushing hard materials, there are also strict requirements for the particle size of the feed. As far as titanium powder is concerned, it needs to be controlled at 100 ~ 200 mesh when crushing calcined material; The materials after surface treatment are generally 40 ~ 70 mesh, not more than 2 ~ 5 mesh.

Temperature of working medium

When the temperature of the working medium is too high, the flow rate of the gas will accelerate. Taking air as an example, the critical speed at room temperature is 320m / s. when the temperature rises to 480 ℃, the critical speed can be increased to 500m / s, that is, the kinetic energy increases by 150%. Therefore, increasing the temperature of the working medium is conducive to improving the crushing effect

Pressure of working medium

It is understood that the pressure of the working medium is not only the main parameter of the jet flow velocity, but also the main parameter affecting the crushing fineness.

Generally speaking, the higher the pressure of the working medium, the faster the velocity, and the greater the kinetic energy. So, how high pressure should we choose when crushing? Technicians said that this mainly depends on the comminutability and fineness requirements of materials. For example, when titanium powder is crushed with superheated steam, the steam pressure is generally 0.8 ~ 1.7mpa, while the calcined materials are generally higher, and the materials after surface treatment can be lower.
